What sort of information is covered? We’re happy to focus on whatever you see as the needs of the attendees, but we like to break into two tracks––beginner and advanced––and then look at how to design the home page and the story pages and the newsroom itself. If time allows, we’ll also look at analytics, social media, and advertising.
Who attends SNO Days? Usually we recommend that newspaper staffs bring one adviser and up to two students so that the day can be focused on improvement and implementation.
Do schools have to have a SNO Site to attend? Nope, but the time is probably better spent if you do because other online publishing options out there just don’t have all the features that SNO does. And we’ll be honest, if you come without being a SNO site, you’ll probably walk away as one.
I’ve never heard of these SNO Days. Are they a new thing? Designed by SNO and piloted in MN and TX, these days have been around for about a three years.
What do they cost? Each SNO Day will get a custom quote based primarily on travel costs. As a frame of reference, most SNO Days will cost $1200 per day per trainer.
